Hand woven linen warp and hand spun wool weft.

This is part of a series of hand spun runners using fleece from the following sheep breeds: Icelandic, Jacob, Bluefaced Leicester, Manx Loaghtan, Corriedale, Herdwick, Masham, Gotland, Cheviot, Suffolk, Norwegian, Swaledale, Finnish, Shetland, and Welsh.

I made this series because I am always drawn to the amazing array of colors and textures found in different sheep breeds.   None of the weft colors have been dyed and all of the wool yarns were spun by local spinner Carroll Davis Johnson.  The warp on this one is dark blue linen.

The "wiggly edge" is due to different densities in the fibers and spinning;  we refer to it as the "live edge".
